For those of you who have not yet experienced the fantastic LEGO Brick Wonders exhibition currently on show at the Nerve Centre make sure and get along this weekend before the exhibition closes on May 2.
Created by Warren Elsmore, the Brick Wonders Exhibition has been on display in Londonderry since February and attracted over 12,000 visitors to date. It features over 70 LEGO models including not only the seven Ancient Wonders, but also Seven Old, Modern and Natural wonders.
Feedback from the public has been very positive with families and LEGO enthusiasts from all over the city and region coming along to view the exhibit and enjoy the Play and Create activities.
Oonagh McGillion, Legacy Director with Derry City and Strabane District Council says Brick Wonders has had a huge impact on those who have visited the exhibition. In addition to the exhibition a series of specialist workshops have been held as well as a schools competition and a Brick Wonders Lego trail exhibiting the winning entries at locations across the Council area.
“The exhibition is coming to a close and I would encourage families across the North West region who are looking for something to do over the May Bank Holiday weekend and who haven’t yet experienced the exhibition, to come along this weekend and visit the exhibition. It’s a very innovative exhibition using LEGO bricks to create stunning scenes that recreate icons of history. It also looks at new wonders of the world and treasures from the past millennium that remain standing today,” she added.
