Kate Adie to deliver Ulster Museum WWI talk
A former chief news correspondent at the BBC, Kate Adie, will deliver a talk on women and World War One as part of the Ulster Museum's '˜Remembering 1916' programme.
The lunchtime lecture, set to take place at the museum on Tuesday, is titled ‘Fighting on the Home Front: the Legacy of Women in World War One’.
In her talk the respected journalist will explore the role and experiences of women during the conflict, as well as the legacy for women’s lives today.
During the War, women became a visible force in public life and began to take up essential roles in munitions, entertainment, transport and policing, even politics. Booking is essential.
