Fright nights promised as the Derry Walls awaken

For those who just can't wait until Monday night for the street carnival parade and fireworks finale to begin, why not take to Derry's ancient walls and scare yourself silly on three supernatural fright nights over the weekend?

‘Awakening the Walls,’ which will take place in and around the old - and haunted - ramparts tonight, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to 8.30pm, is a free supernatural animation trail, featuring beautiful illuminations by local and visiting artists from the Craft Village, the North West Carnival Initiative (NWCI) and Derry Youth and Community Workshop.

Paranormal perambulators are invited to take an evening stroll, pay homage to the Ancients, welcome our Alien friends, discover frights and delights and get in the mood for the biggest night of the year.
