Two men have been charged with various offences and are due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court on the morning of Friday 22 August.

A 22 year old man has been charged with hijacking, theft and 5 motoring offences, while a 23 year old man has been charged with hijacking and five motoring offences.

As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

It is believed that the charges are in conection with a vehicle hijacking that occurred in the Little Diamond area of Derry on the evening of Wednesday 20 August.

A man was left badly shaken following a vehicle hijacking in the Little Diamond area.

It happened shortly after 10pm on Wednesday when the driver was coming from Free Derry Corner towards the Northland Road. His white Kia Picanto car was stopped by a man standing in the road and he was ordered out of his vehicle.
