Doctor appears before Londonderry Magistrates Court on indecency charges

A doctor from Londonderry has appeared before Londonderry Magistrates Court on foot of a number of indecency charges.

He is Lee Casey, aged 51, from Mansefield Grove in the city.

The 51-year-old doctor is facing indecent assault charges against female patients.

At the preliminary inquiry into his case he told the Court that he was “definitely not guilty”.

Casey is charged with two counts indecently assaulting two individuals, both under the age of 18.

During the preliminary inquiry the defence solicitor for the accused said there were no objections to the holding of the inquiry.

When the accused was asked if he wished to make any statement in relation to the charges he replied: “Definitely not guilty”.

The case against Dr Casey will now proceed to Londonderry Crown Court, and it is anticipated that Dr Casey will appear on September 18 for arraignment.

He was released on his own bail of £200 to await trial.
