Boy, 15, is assaulted by three adult males

Police at Strand Road have made an appeal for information about an assault on a youth in the Westway area of Londonderry.

The incident occurred on Monday, June 29 or early on Tuesday, June 30, in the Cityside.

A PSNI Inspector, Jonny Hunter, said that it was reported to them that a 15-year-old had been assaulted by three men who got out of a car. The attack happened overnight on Monday or in the early hours of Tuesday.

“The teenager sustained injuries to his face and body when he was knocked to the ground,” he said.

Appealing for information, Inspector Hunter said police were keen to hear from anyone who saw the assault, or saw the car.

“In addition to the three male assailants, it is believed a female was in the car,” he said.

Anyone with information can pass it to police using the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively use Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
