Alderman Mary Hamilton has called on Roads Service to fill in a crater which has appeared at Longland Road in Claudy.
The three-feet wide crater is on a blind turn in the road at the brow of a hill.
“I am told a farmer tried to fill it in but was told to remove the fill as if an accident occurred he would be responsible,” she said.
“I am deeply concerned that the crater will cause an accident if nothing is done to fill it properly. I have been in contact with Danny Kennedy and have been told it is a second class road, but that is not a good enough answer if there is an accident. What price do you put on a life?”
