Confirmation Service at Dungiven and Bovevagh

The Parish of Dungiven and Bovevagh welcomed the family and friends to Dungiven Church of Ireland on Sunday, June 28 for a Service of Confirmation.

A total of 14 candidates were confirmed by Bishop Ken Good.

The candidates also took part in the service. Adam Warke read the first lesson from Proverbs 3: 1-8 and Joel Boucher read the second lesson found in St Peter 1: 3-9, while the Rural Dean, Canon Harold Given, read the Gospel from St John 1: 35-42.

A solo was performed by Louie Meenagh and there was also an anthem from the choir.

The church was filled to capacity for the Service of Confirmation.

The young people will celebrate their first communion on Sunday, July 5.

The young people were prepared for confirmation by the parish Youth Coordinator Peter Thorogood, Sunday school Superintendent Judith Mullan, Rev David McBeth and Canon Harold Given.
