The community of Donemana enjoyed a great night at the official switch-on of the Christmas tree lights.

Organisers (Drummond Centre Project Ltd, Dennett Interchange, Dennett Anglers and Donemana District & Community Association) have thanked the TAFI Northern Ireland Fly Fishing Commonwealth Team and Santa for switching on the lights.

“Thanks to David Dougherty for providing music at the tree, Woodsland Preschool Centre for singing in the hall, Barron Accordion Band, the volunteers from Drummond Centre Project Ltd, Dennett Anglers, Dennett Interchange and Donemana District and Community Association.

“Thanks to Florence Hall for baking shortbread and mince pies. Thanks to Donemana Presbyterian Church for use of the hall, to Barry Buchanan for providing transport for Santa in a Massey Ferguson.

“Thanks to Derry City and Strabane District Council for providing the tree and lights and a special word of thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting this community event.

“We would like to thank McKeown’s Day To Day in Donemana for supplying the crisps, juice, Shloer, sweets, selection boxes and biscuits for the switch on in Donemana.

“We would like to acknowledge Melvin’s generous donations to the local community in this way over the past number of years,” concluded the organisers.
