THE biggest show of the season has commenced at the Millennium Forum with ALADDIN, this year's annual Christmas pantomime, running until Sunday, January 3.
In the title role of Aladdin is talented actor and singer, Conleth Kane who, with his good looks and charming personality, is guaranteed to delight the local female audience!
Conleth joins the Panto fresh from his appearance as Dr Paul Bridges in BBC TV’s Casualty. A graduate of the prestigious Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre in London, Conleth has spent the past few years in numerous high profile theatre roles including Naked Boys Singing (original West End cast), Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (UK tour), Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (UK tour) and RENT (Broadway Theatre, London).
No stranger to Panto, he performed as Peter Pan in the Millennium Forum in 2004 and has also appeared in Jack and The Beanstalk (Armagh) and The Wizard of Oz (Lyric).
A hugely talented singer, Conleth has recently performed onstage at London’s Trafalgar Square with pop singer, Pink, during a recording of the T Mobile television ads.
Joining Conleth onstage is William Caulfield who returns as everyone’s favourite Dame, Widow Twankey, Gerard McCabe as the loveable but very silly, Wishy Washy, Daneka Greig as the beautiful Princess Jasmine and local funnyman, Paddy Taylor as the hilarious, Chinese Policeman. Not forgetting, of course, the traditional panto ‘baddie’, James Lecky as the evil Abanazar. Get ready to boo and hiss!
Come with us to old Peking where the evil sorcerer, Abanazar, seeks the magic lamp to bring him untold wealth and power. Can Aladdin save the day? Will Wishee Washee and the Genie of the Lamp help our hero? Will Princess Jasmine find the boy of her dreams? Will Widow Twankey finally wear something that doesn’t look like an explosion in a paint factory?
This magical adventure story is brought to life in a spectacular production complete with stunning sets, beautiful costumes and lots of comedy. This sparkling festive extravaganza is guaranteed fun for all the family.
This year’s show already displays the Millennium Forum’s hallmark of outstanding quality and value-for-money entertainment for everyone this Christmas. Book your seats now for the carpet ride of a lifetime!
