Seventy-four penalty notices for illegal dumping were issued by Council enforcement officers across Londonderry and Strabane in the first six months of the 2015/16 financial year.
However, by the end of November only 26 of those fines had been paid.
That’s according to information released by the Council, which also shows 17 penalty notices were waived following appeals.
At the end of November, 31 of these fines had yet to be collected.
The majority of the enforcement related to the more populous Londonderry area.
Forty-seven fixed penalty notices were issued across the city during the same six month period.
Fifteen of these had been paid by November; twelve had been waived following appeal; and a further twenty were outstanding.
