Molins workers wait: January 16, 1985. Negotiations are still going on in an attempt to save the 250 jobs at the Molins factory at Maydown near Londonderry. And yesterday, a senior Union official would only say he was hopeful that the jobs would be preserved. Efforts are still ongoing to attract industrialists from the USA to take over the Plant and those have been supplemented by approaches by local and community and church leaders.

Campbell accuses bbc: January 16, 1985. A protest has been lodged with the News Editor of the BBC in Belfast by Londonderry’s DUP leader Gregory Campbell. Mr Campbell criticised the BBC’s “inadequate coverage of reported cases of discrimination in Londonderry.” In a letter to the News Editor he referred to news item relating to alleged discrimination by Craigavon Council.
