The Western Trust spent £13,900 on tea and buns last year, the lowest amount spent by any health authority in Northern Ireland.

Health Minister Simon Hamilton said the total cost of hospitality provided by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety in 2014/15 was £391,500.

This cost has reduced to less than half of the 2008/9 spend of £837,200.

To put the western Trust spend in context, the South Eastern Trust spent £80,800 and the Belfast Trust spent £76,600.
