Featuring Bec Hill, Alan Irwin, Terry McHugh, Rory McSwiggan, Fintan Harvey and Bobby Best, the multi billed showcase will feature some of the best local, national and international comics.

Performing at The Playhouse Big Tickle on Thursday September 26 for their first live performance in over three years, the local comedy troupe will bring a night of exclusive sets, brand new videos, five star Edinburgh comics, local heroes and special surprise guests.

Adelaide-born Bec Hill started comedy in 2006, when she made the national finals of the Raw new act competition in her native Australia. Two years later, she made her solo debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with her show ‘If You Can Read This My Cape Fell Off’. She then made the trip to the UK, where she now works. The comedian made headlines at the Edinburgh Fringe this year when her boyfriend proposed in the middle of her show ‘Bec By Popular Demand’.

Fintan Harvey has been rocking the local scene and is a firm favourite with audiences, and Rory McSwiggan has been going from strength to strength, recently wowing audiences at the Foyle Pride ‘I’m Still Stand Up’ gig.

A definite one to watch, Terry McHugh has been touring strong, supporting greats and getting MLA’s into trouble for retweeting his jokes. Also on the bill is Belfast’s Alan Irwin, just back from the Edinburgh Fringe where his one man show ‘An Idiot Wind’ played to amazing acclaim, Comedian of Culture Bobby Best (who is bringing his hilarious new comedy power point show exclusively to The Big Tickle), topped off with the comedy supremo of destruction Rudolpho the Clown.

“It’s going to be a wonderful celebration of comedy in the City of Culture, and a showcase chock full of laughs” Max Beer at The Playhouse said.

“In the past ‘The Concept’ have opened for the likes of Kevin McAleer, David O’Doherty, Phil Nichol and Jeremy Hardy. They’ve performed as part of The Edinburgh fringe, Big Tickle Festival, Belfast and Dublin Fringes as well as recording pilots for Radio Ulster and others.

“We’re delighted to have them back for 2013 Big Tickle with a storming show will featuring extreme chunks of awesome comedy!”

‘Love The Concept’ will come to The Playhouse on Thursday September 26 at 8pm. Tickets are £8 and are available from The Playhouse Box Office on (028)71268027 or online at www.derryplayhouse.co.uk.
