Claudy singer, Ritchie Remo has become an Internet sensation with a bouncy Country music song...about country life, called ‘Hit the Diff’.

A few weeks ago his video of the song, featuring the fresh-faced singer mucking about on a farm, was put out on YouTube and it has created a fairly substantial following.

As of today, Thursday afternoon it has received 958,584 hits, which, in terms of a local singer is quite a phenomenon.

The video is a Steve Bloor Media Video Production and it is a cover of the original by Marty Mone. (A diff is a differential lock on a vehicle).

East Londonderry MP, Gregory Campbell, congratulated Ritchie Remo on his video success.

“For a local singer to have a video viewed on You Tube one million times is an incredible achievement,” Mr Gregory said.

“I’m sure he will continue to entertain his fans for years to come. Many singers with a national or international profile don’t get anything close to one million views, so well done.”

The uninitiated in farming lingo may find the following translations helpful: Drawing hauling and buckraking, general driving work; double clutching, pump clutch twice to get into gear; flat to the mat, really busy; give me a yoke with plenty of poke, give me something with plenty of power; need some sleep and new teeth, I need new teeth for my digger bucket; mixing piping, spreading slurry with the pipe system.
