Country singing sensation Lee Matthew’s hits number 1 on the Country music charts with Charity Cover of Eurovision 1997 wining song ‘Love Shine A Light’.

The multi-award winning country singer who was recently crowned ‘New Male Vocalist of the Year’ at a lavish event in Northern Ireland has stormed to attraction since his launch back in February of this year. Lee has attracted huge attention both locally and nationally and Lee is fast becoming one of the top names on the country music scene in such a short space of time.

With songs such as ‘Sadie’s Got Her New Dress On’ and a song which Lee has self penned entitled ‘That Country Girl’ proving to be huge hits on local radio stations and the dance floors of country music venues around the country and in the UK, Lee is excited to be touring Ireland with his six-piece band and fantastic sound and lighting show. Lee released his third single last week donated to three young, terminally ill brothers from Roscommon, which hit No.1 on its first day of release staying there all week for an official Country Chart No.1 hit. Lee hopes it will raise much needed funds for the boys and their campaign. For more information log on at www.joinourboys.org
Speaking about the shows in the first few months of the tour Lee said he was overwhelmed by the response and support he has received so far and was loving the atmosphere each night with the floor filled from the start of the night to the end.

He said: “People love our set list and I can’t wait to play Country Comes To City this Saturday, It’s going to be a fantastic show.”

He added that he has made a lot of friends in the country music scene since he released his first single Sadie’s Got her New Dress On and it’s just got better and better with his second single That Country Girl and the current tour.

Lee is currently busy behind the scenes compiling his debut album, which will be out in September. Lee has several tracks already recorded and after hearing that three terminally ill Irish boys from one family in Roscommon had chosen a song, ‘Love Shine A Light’ that he had already recorded as their special song of hope, he decided to release it as his new single and donate all proceeds to the Join Our Boys charity that is raising funds for brothers Issac and George (aged four) and Archie (aged eight). The song went straight to Number 1 on its first week of release. A video for the new single shot in Roscommon featuring the boys was released last week with its first play on Hot Country TV last Monday night.

Lee’s previous single ‘That Country Girl’ was released in March and has already featured on all the main country music channels including The Hot Country Show, Ireland West Music TV and The Phil Mac Show. Lee’s debut sell-out launch night at The Allingham Arms Hotel Bundoran was also featured on these channels over the past few weeks.

With a great band and a set-list that has everyone dancing to the wee hours of the morning you just have to come along and see what’s in store from the hottest new country artist that everyone is talking about this year and with the recent news that ‘Love Shine A Light’ hit No.1 on the Irish Country music charts fans are in for a real treat with a great double bill, Nathan Carter and Lee Matthews.
