Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company are getting into the Christmas spirit by offering unique and creative dance workshops for children during two Saturdays in December called ‘Christmas in the Jungle’.
The workshops will provide the opportunity for both girls and boys aged 5-12, to spend a cold December afternoon exploring what Christmas would be like in the tropics of the jungle! Alongside members of the professional Echo Echo ensemble, the children will be given the chance to get creative through a wide range of movement, music, art and storytelling activities. These workshops are also a great opportunity for youngsters to meet new friends and be introduced to Echo Echo’s creative and accessible style of dance as ‘poetic movement’ that so many enjoy.
‘Christmas in the Jungle’ follows two years of previous Christmas workshops named ‘Christmas in Space’ that were a huge success and enjoyed by all. To try something different this year, Echo Echo have decided to bring things back down to earth and take a warmer, more earthy approach.
With their studio at 13 Bishop Street situated in the centre of town, the two-hour workshops will also provide the perfect opportunity for those busy parents and little Christmas elves to cross off some items on their Christmas shopping list, in the confidence that their little ones are in good hands and having great fun in a very creative environment.
Christmas in the Jungle sessions will take place on Saturday, December 8 at 2pm to 4pm and Saturday, December 15, at 2pm to 4pm.
Each workshop costs £6 per session.
Comfortable, loose fitted clothing is preferable; alongside an extra old top or shirt to keep your clothes clean…things in the Echo Echo jungle are likely to get a little messy this Christmas!
Beginners are very welcome, however places are limited. To book, or for more information, please call 0287130 8883, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit echoechodance.com.
