Ilex has applied for permission to turn the barrack block opposite Ebrington Presbyterian Church into office accommodation.

Planners have newly-received the application for the conversion of the ground floor of the building, which is located to the rear of the officers’ mess.

Last Wednesday (April 23) was the closing date for the receipt of tenders for the Creative Hub at Buildings 80 and 81 in Ebrington and Ilex said it hoped to appoint an operator within the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, buildings 57 and 59 are to be fully refurbished as a high specification 40 seater café and retail. Building 70 will also be developed as a new high specification office.
