Rugby summer camp coming to Judges Road

ULSTER rugby's team of Rugby Development Officers is visiting schools in Londonderry to tell pupils what they can expect at this year's Summer Camps.

The Ulster Rugby Summer Camps, sponsored by retail group Centra since 2008, will take place at 16 different locations province-wide, including Judges Road, and are for boys and girls aged 6-13 years. Camps will run between 29th June and 21st August and each will last five days.

Rugby Development Officers will be distributing application forms in schools and the forms will also be available at local Centra stores.

Summer Camps provide children with a great opportunity to build upon the coaching they receive in school, and also offer children without previous rugby experience the chance to learn new skills.

The price of camps this year will include a kit bag, Ulster Rugby T-shirt, rugby ball and a voucher for a Magners' League rugby match at Ravenhill. Further details on the booking process will be posted on www.ulsterrugby.com in the coming weeks.

Ulster Branch Provincial Development Manager, Chris Webster said the work Rugby Development Officers were doing in local schools would enhance the scheme this year and added: "I am pleased to confirm that Ulster Rugby Summer Camps will continue in 2009 and look forward to announcing full details of the camps over the next few months. We welcome the continued support from Centra and look forward to working closely with them for another year of Summer Camps."

Centra Brand Manager Nicky Kelly added: "Centra and its independent retail partners are pleased to continue their support of the Ulster Rugby Summer Camps and to help raise awareness of the initiative in all areas of Ulster. The partnership with Ulster Rugby is aligned with Centra's other sponsorship programmes, which also focus on the health and well-being of young people."
