Corner Bar in driving seat

WITH only two league games remaining this season Corner Bar from Dungiven are in the driving seat and unless something quite dramatic happens in next two games they are favourites to be crowned Eglinton and District Darts League Champions for 2011/12.

They are three points clear of Rising Sun A and with only two games remaining but anything can happen in this league as shown in previous years so the next weeks will prove who has been best team for the full season.

The individual performance of the week goes to the talented Michael McCloskey (Rising Sun A) with the joint best leg of league darts this season with a superb 13 dart leg and Michael followed this up with a 21 dart leg.

Michael McCloskey (Rising Sun A) and Dominic Begley (Drummond Hotel) with two games remaining share the best leg of darts so far in the league this season.

Other good legs on the night were from Paul Brown (Corner Bar) 15 darts; Daryll Loughery (Rising Sun A) 16 darts); Danny O’Neill (Corner Bar) 17 darts twice; Keith Darby (Macons) 18 darts; Mickey Moore (Corner Bar) 19 darts; Sean Logue (Rising Sun A) 19 darts; Brian Murray (Calablanca) 20 darts.

The highest checkout of the week went to Keith Darby (Macons) with a fantastic 120 finish and he was closely followed with good checkouts from Michael McCloskey (Rising Sun A) 111; Raymond Millar (John Ts) 91; Paul Brown (Corner Bar) 80; Neil Black (Calablanca) 78; Liam Millar (John Ts) 76; Raymond O’Hara (Rising Sun B) 74; Sean McKinney (Rising Sun A) 70; Deane Connolly (Longfield B) 65; Steven Doherty (Rising Sun A) 60; Danny O’Neill (Corner Bar) 56; Joe Donnelly (Corner Bar) 52.

There were also two recorded 180 maximum scores so far last Thursday night from Robert Murray (Calablanca) and Keith Darby (Macons).

While the final monthly darts meeting of the season is on Monday, May 7 at 8:30pm sharp in Macons Bar, Claudy and all league teams must have monies returned owed to league at the latest this meeting including our end of season draw when tickets are handed out this week.

This draw will be held on the same night as this meeting and tickets are non refundable any not sold will be deduted from end of season winnings.

All teams are requested to bring numbers and money for end of season dinner dance on Friday 11th May or 18th May (TBC) in the Longfield Inn, Eglinton so the cost per head will be advertised soon in local papers and facebook under the Darts Eglinton page.
