The build-up to the Rugby World Cup during September and October starts locally next Monday at City of Derry.

Ulster Rugby has teamed up with Centra to kick off what is expected to be the biggest Summer Camps to date.

Ulster Rugby, the Judges Road camp, which takes place from Monday 27th July until Friday 31st July, are running their Summer Camp for boys and girls from 6 to 12-years-old who don’t need to have previously played rugby to attend.

The camps, are expected to welcome almost 2000 young players this summer at 24 venues across Ulster and next week’s camp at Judges Road starts at 9.30am each day and finishes at 1.30pm.

It is £55 per participant, £45 for a second child and places can be booked online at www.ulsterrugby.com/domestic/Development/CentraSummerCamps.aspx

Barry Willis, Community Rugby Manager at Ulster Rugby, said: “This is a really exciting year for the summer camps as we get ready to welcome our 10,000th young player.

“The camps are a fantastic opportunity for children to receive specialist rugby training and are open to players with a mix of abilities whether they are new to the sport or building on their own experience.

“We are delighted to host so many enthusiastic young players each year and it would be fantastic to see some progress up to senior level,” he added.

Each child will receive a T-shirt, Boot Bag and a Rugby Ball. There will also be Ulster Players in attendance on one of the days.

The search for future Irish Rugby Stars starts now following the successes of last season when the Irish Means and Women’s Teams both won their 6 Nations Competitions.

All roads lead to City of Derry Rugby Club next Monday.
