Recently the members and friends of City of Derry Golf Club undertook a fund raising drive to purchase a defibrillator for the club.

The funding target was recently achieved and the life-saving machine has now been delivered.

Last Tuesday night Mr James McGuiness of HEARTSINE presented the latest model to Lady Captain Frances McLaughlin.

The club will now undertake a training program with members to ensure that, should use of the defibrillator ever be required, club members and members of staff alike will have the knowledge and training to use the equipment.

The organising committee would like to thank all those who have made this acquisition possible.

Last Tuesday’s Ladies competition at City of Derry was won by Karen Jackson (17) after she scored 31 points.

Jennie Flanagan (12) with 29 points was second and Geraldine Crossan (14) with 28 points was third.

The nine hole competition went to Ester Milligan (9) with 13 points. Geraldine Crossan, Frances McLaughlin and Pamela Rutherford were the winners of the two’s competition.

While the annual Derry Inner Wheel Club golf event, which is celebrating their 21st year of running this event for local charities, takes place at Foyle.
