The annual Subscribers’ Cup was played for on Saturday at City of Derry Golf Club.
After the heavy rains of Friday the calm conditions prevalent for Saturday’s competition were a welcome development.
Mr Russell McGowan (13) coasted to the top of the leaderboard with a magnificent 42 points.
Stuart McClelland (8) was closest to the winner with a very steady blemish-free 39 points. Mr Jason Cleere (16), grabbed third spot but he will be rueing the missed opportunities in his 38 point score.
Mr E Heywood took the Best Gross Prize with a well compiled 37 points.
Sadly, the Sunday Society Competition fell foul of the heavy overnight rains and the society faithful not only have Mr Jim McCann’s Captain’s Day on April 10th left to round off their season.
Visitors are invited to play Prehen course each Thursday in an Open competition for a very reasonable £15 fee. Competitors must have a valid GUI handicap and produce their GUI card when signing in. Bookings can be made by calling 02871311496.
