GOLF: Long time City of Derry member wins Ted Pope Trophy

A three way tie break was required to establish the winner of this years Ted Pope Trophy at City of Derry with long time member, John Woods securing the top spot with 38 points over 18 holes.

Second on the day was Past Skipper, Noel O’Connell Snr, with Eamon McCourt in third.

The final competition of the season is Mr Robin McClay’s Skippers Prize which takes place this Thursday March 31st.

Last card on the day will be issued at 2pm, with meal and presentation at 6pm.

Members are reminded to enter their name in the Pro Shop if attending the meal. Meal is £5 with competition entry at £3.

Golfer of the Year, Joe Ramsey and Ted Pope presentations will also take place on the night.

The Prehen club’s 2016 council are now all in place with Clive Brolly taking the Captain position and Frances McLaughlin taking the Ladies’ Captain position.
