GOLF: Charity Open in aid of Circle of Autism at Foyle

The PFS Accountants Sponsored Qualifying Singles took center stage at Foyle last week with 90 plus competitors turning out hoping to secure one of the 64 places on offer in the Singles Match Play Club Championship, nine handicapper Martin Moran took the leading qualifiers accolade with a fine nett 64.

Joe Bradley and Sean Haslett finished second and third respectively after a nett 67 break of tie.

The Highlight of the competition was Two Hole-In-One’s recorded at the par three thirteenth hole by Stephen Moran and Stevie Moore who holed out with their perfect tee shots for their aces.

The Match Play draw is now posted on Club notice board.

The first round matches to be completed by May 31st.

Foyle Golf Club Captain’s Mrs Monica Smith and Mr Emmet McNally held their Drive-In on Friday followed by a 9 Hole Scramble.

There was a very good turnout with sixteen teams enjoying a fine Spring evening and the scoring reflected the fine conditions.

The winning team Paul McGuigan, Conor McNally, Gary McCloskey and Christine McCafferty playing the nine holes in six under par for an excellent winning score of 25.2.

The Crumley Construction Monthly Medal takes place tomorrow (Wednesday).

Saturday sees a Club Stableford competition take place and it will be the first counting competition in the 2016 P&L Electrics Golfer of the Year.

On Sunday there’s a Charity open Stableford in Aid of Circle of Autism.

While on Bank Holiday Monday there’s a Open Stableford competition, which is sponsored by Drinks Inc, down for decision
