Former Foyle College student Megan Frazer might be heading to Rio 2016 with Ireland’s Ladies Hockey team.

The Irish skipper, who was cheered on by Foyle College senior hockey girls team in the Quarter-finals of the World League 2 Tournament, in Dublin last week, helped her side to eventual win the tournament.

They beat Lithuania 2-0 in the quarter-finals with Megan scoring from the penalty spot much to the delight of the travelling Foyle supporters.

In the semi-finals on Saturday they cruised past Belarus scoring seven goals with no reply.

The final on Sunday against Canada was a more even affair which ended 1-1 after full time. Ireland won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3.

This earns the Irish team a place at the Olympic Qualifiers in June when they will have realistic expectations of reaching the Rio Olympics in 2016.
