Despite missing Christmas dinner, Daryl Gurney is looking forward to his Boxing Day encounter with World champion Gary Anderson.

The Waterside man faces the Scots man in the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexander Palace.

Gurney, who defeated Anderson in the recent Players Championship, seen off Jamie Lewis in the first round last night, winning 3-1.

The 29-year-old will be last on stage on Boxing Day, with all the action getting underway at 6pm, live on Sky Sports.

Gurney, who is returning home for a few days before flying back to London on Christmas Eve, won’t be changing anything when he faces Anderson.

“I’ll prepare the exact same way, nothing extra, nothing less,” he said.
“I’ll do my couple of hours practice on the dart board, I’ll do my doubles, trebles, finishes and I’ll do everything the exact same, nothing changes for any player.

“As long as I prepare myself right, I’m happy enough to take on anyone.”
