Sides reach Spring League semi-finals

THE quarter-finals of the Pitchers Restaurant Spring League at Foyle were completed last week with the following teams booking their place in the semi-finals.

Team 5 Tommy Bradley, Stephen Powell, Lawerance Powell and Joe Bradley overcame the strong challenge from Team 8 and will play Team 17 David Stevenson, Sean Sands, Paul McEleney and Neil Cooke after they defeated Team 22.

The other semi-final will feature Team 3 Ciaran Gillen, Ryan Gillen, Scott Kennedy and Caolan McLaughlin after their win over Team 15 and will play Team 20 Adrian Browne, Gary Cassidy, Noel Martin and Roy Martin after they disposed of Team 18, the matches should be completed by April 22nd.

The Crumley Construction monthly medal, which took place last Wednesday saw Lawerance Powell (9) with nett 70 win the category 0-11, Kevin Crumley (15) with nett 67 won the category 12-17 and the category 18+ was won by John Logue (18) after he finished with nett 66. CSS 71

Last Saturday’s winners were Cormac McGeady (4) with nett 70 in the category 0-11, Martin McKeone (12) with nett 69 won the category 12-17 after a break of tie finish, while James McCallion (20) with nett 63 won the category 18+. CSS 71.

The over 50’s confined competition went to Matt Donnell (11) after he scored 39 points. This week’s competition, which starts today (Wednesday) until Sunday is the Brickkiln qualifying pairs (1 card only) competition.
