The massive field battled the trickiest wind that the Prehen course experiences.

With many holes directly playing into the heavy breeze and many others offering massive wind assistance, scoring was, to say the least, tricky.

By close of play it took a break-of-tie to decide the top three places.

All three players finishing on 39 points had their tales to tell in the bar as to how things could have been.

The tie-break eventually fell in favour of James Desmond (15) who overcame a somewhat lacklustre front nine, where he carded only 16 points, by powering to a back-nine 23 point tally.

Second place was captured by the resurgent Eamon Maxwell (20) with an outward half of 17 and an inward 22 point tally.

Thomas McClintock (10) with 37 points was third and the ever-steady Graham Hepburn (4) carded 34 points to take the gross prize and Nathan Mulligan lifted the Junior Prize on the day.
