Cleghorn's President'sDay at Faughan Valley

This week Faughan Valley will be running the midweek from Wednesday to Thursday, and on Saturday John Huw Cleghorn will hosting his Presidents Day.

In the Weekend Open Stableford competition sponsored by The Exchange Restaurant and Wine Bar went to Kenny Hughes (16) with 42 points.

In second spot was 11 handicapper Gerrard Redden with 39 point, and taking up third spot was Stephen Nicholl with 38 points playing off 11.

The gross was won by Conor Peace (9) with 81 gross, the Front Nine was won by Terry Dornan with 20 points, and the winner of the Back Nine was Eoghan Brolly with 22 points and there were six winners in the sweep.

In last week’s mid-week the winner was 16 handicapper Colin Robinson with 39 points and in second place was 13 handicapper Alan O’Bryan with 37 points.

While the North West Inter Club League round one matches have been completed with some very close matches and at this early stage defending champions Faughan Valley 9 points hold a slender half point lead over Buncrana 8.5 points in section 1, with Foyle and Roe Park tied on 8.5 points each in section 2.

Second rounds matches are as follows: Section 1 Redcastle versus Faughan Valley; Greencastle versus Buncrana; Section 2 Ballyliffin versus North West; Foyle versus Roe Park and all matches are to be completed by Sunday July 24th.

While at Foyle today (Wednesday) there’s a Club Stableford competition.
