Champion Berryman is straight out of the blocks

Golfer of the Year got underway at Roe Park in style last week as defending champion Kieran Berryman showed everyone why he is still very much the man to beat once again this year.

He played his best round to date to win Thursdays’ Club Stableford scoring an incredible six under par round 64 and 44 points. A flawless round included 6 birdies and 12 pars with 21 points scored on the front nine and an even better 23 points on the back nine.

Playing off a handicap of just one and in such great form it certainly won’t be long before Kieran reaches that magical scratch handicap every dedicated golfer strives to achieve. Young Jamie Cochrane certainly has the talent to follow in Kieran’s footsteps and showed it by scoring 38 points to claim second place.
