ARDMORE booked their place in the City Cup Final with an emphatic win over Premier title contenders Maghera Strollers, this result means Damien McGee’s side are in the running for four trophies this season.

In the Premier Division on Saturday Lincoln Courts continued their good form with a win over Newbuildings United Reserves, Burndennett moved off the bottom of the table after defeating Greysteel while Roe Rovers remain in third spot after winning at Sion who now find themselves in bottom spot.

In the Second Division after their win on Saturday Irish Street were crowned champions.

This Friday night at Wilton Park, Eglinton take on Roe Rovers in the semi-final of the City Cup (KO 6.45pm) with Ardmore awaiting the winners, while on Saturday there are four games in the Premier Division.

City Cup

Eglinton v Roe Rovers

It’s First Division against Premier Division in this one, Eglinton have surprised a few people on reaching the last four but they have got their on merit, they are also still in with a chance of promotion to the Premiership next season.

Rovers are currently third in the Premier table although out of the title hunt they would dearly love to win this cup, they have some quality players and they have been helped by having a settled side for most of the season, they may prove to strong for the Villagers.

Prediction: Roe Rovers.

Premier Division

Drummond v Lincoln Courts

The Roesiders are safe from relegation and they might not have the appetite for this one as they are merely fulfilling fixtures, they may also be missing player manager Chris Moore who may be on cricket duties.

Wayne Glenn’s side are in a rich vein of form and overcame a difficult hurdle against Newbuildings United Reserves last Saturday, they are on a long unbeaten run but they must maintain that if they are going to be champions.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Maghera Strollers v Sion

The Strollers would have been disappointed with their exit of the City Cup but it is no shame to be beaten by Ardmore, they have the players to go all the way to winning the title and they should have few problems in this game.

Sion after last weeks defeat look doomed and with the cricket season starting they may not be at full strength, they will be hoping to keep the score line respectful.

Prediction: Maghera Strollers.

BBOB v City Colts

Another game with nothing at stake, Don Olphert’s side although having a number of useful players haven’t produced the goods for the majority of the season and he won’t be happy with that.

The Colts have had a few decent results all season but they have been unable to put together a string of results, this could end all square.

Prediction: Score Draw.

Dungiven Reserves v Newbuildings United Reserves

Yet another game with nothing at stake bar the three points, the home side like a number of teams in the Division blow a bit hot and cold, however they have brought one or two youngsters through.

Newbuildings like their opponents have lacked a bit of consistency however they have had a reasonable season, they may be missing a few players due to cricket commitments.

Prediction: Dungiven Reserves.
