The one-time striker, has dropped into centre-midfield and his composure and passing, particularly in the first half, ensured Courts desevedly won the points.

Captain Stephen Mooney, who played alongside Hamilton, was also super throughout and capped off a fine display with a second half goal.

Mooney set-up the opener on four minutes, as his powerful header from the half-way line caught out the home side’s defence and the alert Smyth, broke in behind before firing home past goalkeeper Conlan Kelly.

The game was effectively over on 25 minutes as Courts added a second and Tullyally defender Richard McFaul was sent-off.

Smyth showed great skill to get some space inside the box, before seeing his goalbound strike tipped over by McFaul, referee Cyril Hargan rightfully pointed to the spot and showed the defender a straight red card; before Smyth slotted the ball home from 12 yards.

On 40 minutes, more good play by Smyth ended with his right wing centre finding Hamilton, but the midfielder saw his close range header saved by Kelly.

Right on the stroke of half-time a fantastic passing move by Courts ended with Michael Ross’ inch perfect right wing cross find David Downey, who somehow headed wide, with the goal at his mercy.

To their credit the ten men continued to battle after the break and they should have pulled one back on 60 minutes, but Richard Cooke failed to trouble Courts keeper Lee Simpson.

The goalscoring was complete on 70 minutes as Mooney made no mistake from a acute angle, firing low into the net.
