’Stute versus Candystripes kicks off pre-season schedule

DERRY City will kick off their pre-season preparations against cross-city neighbours Institute at the Riverside Stadium on Monday (February 4).

Candystripes fans will have an opportunity to size up new signings Paddy Kavanagh, Sean Houston, Michael Rafter for the first time.

The Foylesiders are also anxiously trying to secure the services of talented out-of-contract Lilywhite Marc Griffin - scorer of the 2012 goal of the season.

Other local friendlies include Dundalk v Finn Harps at Oriel Park (February 8, 7.45pm), Ballinamallard United v Derry City at Ferney Park (February 11, 7.45pm), Derry City v Northern Ireland juniors at the Brandywell (February 19, 7.45pm).

The last current scheduled friendly is another local derby versus Finn Harps in Ballybofey on February 24 at 2.30pm.
