Cup action this weekend

INSTITUTE have a tough game in the Intermediate Cup as they entertain Knockbreda, in what is the tie of the round, this Saturday (KO 2pm).
The team from East Belfast are currently flying high in Belfast Telegraph Championship Two as they lead the way and are five points clear of Armagh City.
They are managed by Hugh Sinclair and have several players who have Irish League experience at a higher level and have only lost once this season.
In their fourteen league games so far this season they have lost one and have won the other thirteen, in those games they have scored fifty-eight times and have only conceded a meagre ten at the other end.
In their last league game at the weekend they hammered Sport & Leisure away from home 8-1 and because of that ’Stute boss Paul Kee isn’t taking anything for granted.
Kee knows that his side are in for a tough game despite Knockbreda being a league below them and he’ll be warning his players to be up for the game right from the off.
“They actually knocked Limavady United out of the Irish Cup a few weeks ago so that tells you exactly what we are up against,” he said.
“They are a hard working team by all accounts and they are not sitting at the top of Championship Two for no reason. They will give most teams a game and we have to make sure that we are ready for the challenge.”
Kee admitted that while he didn’t know much about Knockbreda he will be finding out about them.
“I know Paul Mitchell from Sport and Leisure and he will give me a bit of a run down on them. I have spoken to a few other managers as well so that I have a good idea of what we are up against.
“They seem to be solid outfit, hard working and they never give up which is what you would expect.
“We have to match that desire, make sure our attitude is right and that we are in the hat for the next round,” he ended.
The Drumahoe club will be without duo Stephen Parkhouse and Darren McFadden through suspension, while striker Warren Mullan may also be signed in time to make his debut.
Admission for the cup tie have been reduced with it being £5 for adults and £3 for concessionary, while it’s also £3 for season ticket holders.
