The Candystripes, who broke the deadlock thanks to Mark Timlin’s 13th minute strike, lost the game before half-time when Dinny Corcoran levelled things just after the half-hour mark and Jason Byrne from the penalty spot netted what turned out to be the winner for the home side, just before the break.

In what was a disappointing second half for the visitors they nearly conceded a third late on but Corcoran fired wide from the penalty spot, after Shane McEleney was adjudged to have fouled the Bohs frontman inside the box.

After the match at Dalymount Park Barry Molloy spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin.
