The U14 side emerged victorious by just 13 runs in a thrilling see-saw contest against Campbell College to lift the Derriaghy Cup.

William Finlay’s 62 provided the backbone to their total of 137 for 5 in 25 overs, with Ben Mills (22) and Craig Doherty (20) offering crucial support.

Campbell looked set for victory when they advanced to 87 for 1 after 13 overs, but three wickets from James Goodman, two from Ben Mills and three run-outs saw Campbell implode to fall 13 runs short.

The impressive 13 run victory also capped off what has been an incredible two years for the teenagers, as they haven’t suffered a defeat in any competition since 2014.

While the U15 side won their trophy with an impressive seven wicket win over Methody College Belfast at Muckamore.

Methody were in deep trouble at 25 for 5 but recovered to post a potentially tricky 109 for 9 - Kyle Magee (2-17) the pick of the attack.

An opening stand of 56 between Magee (26) and Darren Robb (33) put Foyle in the driving seat, and Alistair Doherty’s fluent unbeaten 32 saw them safely home with two overs to spare.

Congratulations to Foyle on their two trophy wins with special praise to coaches Mr Stewart and Mr Balmer.
