Cricket: Ireland lose as Scotland clinch T20 Series

Ireland suffered a second defeat to Scotland in their T20 International Series, at a sun-drenched Bready today.

After winning the toss Scotland decided to put Ireland into bat and John Bracewell’s side scored 166 runs off their 20 overs, with skipper Kevin O’Brien and Andrew Poynter top scoring with 36 runs each.

But just like Thursday night’s encounter, Matthew Cross top scored for the visitors with 48 runs, while captain Preston Mommsen finished 47 not out and Kyle Coetzer also impressed with the bat scoring 34 runs.

The fourth and final encounter between the sides will again be at Bready tomorrow, with all the action starting at 2pm.
