The Derry Midweek Annual General Meeting will be held tomorrow (Thursday) night in Glendermott CC at 7.30pm.

Please let me know if available to attend. Below are proposals passed during the last council meeting that will be discussed and voted upon at the AGM.

Move under 13’s to run alternately to the Under 15’s on Thursday nights allowing Under 11’s on Monday’s running with the Ladies.

Midweek Registration. Clubs to register a max of 20 adults (over 18’s) with no limit on number of under 18’s that can be added to list. Change from current 30 player max.

Youth Matches to start earlier at 6pm.

Any player who has played three premiership matches, regardless of ages, cannot play midweek cricket for remainder of season.

Midweek age cut off reduced from Under 19 to Under 17 for premiership rule.

All midweek league matches to begin middle of May and finish middle of July.

Seven Players from Premiership and Championship starred from midweek cricket as per North West starring procedure.

Youth Leagues - one large group for all teams to play each team at each age group.

Meanwhile the first of the NWCU’s two General Meetings took place at Eglinton last week but despite plenty of healthy debate along the way, there were few major changes to report by the end of the evening.

There was one notable switch at the top table as Connie McAllister was elected Union President after John McMillan stepped down.

The Ardmore man was the only proposal to replace John, bringing the Bleachgreen club’s representation on the region’s hierarchy to an all-time high.
