Local cricket and it was certainly a case of black Sunday for North West clubs as all five who were in action crashed out of the Irish Senior Cup.

Coleraine lost 3-2 in a bowl-out at Merrion, while Strabane lost a last over thriller at Malahide by nine runs.

In the NCU, Donemana just failed to chase down Derriaghy’s 282 - 72 from skipper Ricky-Lee Dougherty and 51 from Ritchie McBrine got them to just 10 runs shy.

South African Test player Justin Kemp took 4 for 27 and Nigel Jones scored 73 not out as CIYMS knocked out Brigade, while Anthony Martin’s five wicket haul saw Drummond lose by seven wickets to Carrickfergus.

In Monday’s draw, which saw only two sides from the area still in the cup, saw Fox Lodge host YMCA and Eglinton entertain Waringstown.
