WATERSIDE man Michael McGeady just missed out on clinching a European Tour Card for next season.
The Prehen golfer suffered heartache as he bogeyed the Par 4 final hole yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, at the Qualifying School final stage in the Golf de Catalunya, to finish in tied 33rd place.
McGeady, who recently got married prior to his trip to Catalunya, started his final round in super fashion.
He picked up two birdies at both the opening Par 4 hole and Par 5 third hole, but two bogeys followed by a double bogey at the 4th, 5th and 6th holes, was quickly wiped out as he secured two birdies in the very next two holes, meaning he went out in 36.
The 30-year-old parred every hole until three from home when he holed a great putt to birdie the Par 5, 15th hole, but a dreaded bogey at his 108th hole left him three places behind the all important tour card spot.
Fellow Ulster men Michael Hoey and Jonathan Caldwell did manage to secure their European Tour card.
In fact Hoey had an impressive 67 in his final round, which saw him finish in tied seventh place.
