DERRY City winger Paddy McCourt may have played his last game for the club, as it's believed that English Championship leaders West Brom Albion will be contacting the Brandywell out-fit next week.
Although McCourt's contract isn't up until November it's thought the Baggies are going to offer City in the region of £70,000 to have him on board for the start of next season, which may see Tony Mowbray's side facing the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
However manager Stephen Kenny is adamant the former Rochdale man, won't be going anywhere, at least until the season ends.
The Northern Ireland international has attracted interest from a host of cross-channel clubs, with Premiership bound Albion leading the chase, however Kenny is hopeful the winger will sign a new deal with the Brandywell men.
"First of all West Brom or no other club has been in contact with me in regards Paddy, he's under contract until the end of the season, so he'll not be going anywhere," said Kenny.
"I know that the club are currently talking to Paddy, obviously I hope he signs a new deal but we just have to wait and see how that develops."
Worryingly for the Brandywell faithful Kenny also admitted that McCourt isn't the only player who's contract expires this year.
"There are quite a few other players who's contracts are up in November, but Paddy is the only one we are talking to at the minute."
This weekend Derry travel to fellow title chasers Bohemians this Friday (KO 7.45pm), looking to get back to winning ways, following their defeat Bray Wanderers.
A win over Pat Fenlon's men would leap-frog Bohs, putting Derry back into second spot and also adding pressure to the Inchicore side for their match at Shamrock Rovers on Sunday.
"Bohs' confidence is high after their win over Drogheda, they also have probably have the biggest budget and have a lot of high profile players, however we need to dust ourselves down and get back to work this week," said the Derry gaffer.
"Obviously with Clive Delaney out through suspension we are going to have to re-adjust our defence, with Aaron Callaghan coming into the picture, unfortunately Paddy is still out, but Mark Farren is fully fit.
"We weren't at our best last Friday, but we didn't deserve to lose and it was unfortunate that we suffered a controversial decision in regards both the penalty and Clive's sending off, however we just have to get on with it, starting at Bohemians this Friday."
