DERRY City manager Stephen Kenny is hoping Mark Farren and Clive Delaney will be fit for Friday night's match at strugglers Bray Wanderers, after they missed last night's Setanta Sports Cup tie, at Glentoran.
Unfortunately Paddy McCourt, joins the likes of Darren Quigley, Sean Hargan, Mark McChrystal, Kevin Deery and Sammy Morrow, on the treatment table and is likely to be out for at least a month after picking up a hamstring strain, during Friday evening
's draw with Sligo Rovers.
"We have lost Paddy for at least a month, as a result of three matches in a short period of time, but we'll have to wait and see if either Clive or Mark make it."
Regardless of the injuries Kenny is looking for his side can collect maximum points at the Carlisle Grounds .
The Seagulls would probably have been easier opponents only a few weeks ago, as they struggled in their opening four games, in fact Eddie Gormley's side hadn't scored in those four games.
Since then they have defeated Finn Harps and picked up a crucial point at title chasers Bohemians and because of that Kenny is wary of Wanderers.
"They have drew with Cork City, Bohemians and beat Finn Harps, so they are going to be a difficult side to beat on their own patch," said the Dubliner.
"It will be our fifth game in 14 days and that will take it's toll on the squad, but if you want to be successful you have to play in these competitions, but it's early for us to be competiting on all fronts.
"However in saying all that it will be a good test to the squad and it would be excellent if we could pick up maximum points at Bray."
Last Friday night, the Candystripes had enough chances to win a few games, but in the end had to settle for a scoreless draw with a battling Sligo team.
"Ruaidhri Higgins had an effort cleared off the line, while Owen Morrison hit the bar and I thought Conor Sammon's header was in, so I can't fault my players, because they gave me everything."
After the game the main topic of conversation was the state of the Brandywell pitch and Kenny is hoping things will improve before City's next home match early next month.
"It's dreadful, absolutely dreadful. There's not a pitch like it in the eircom League. It's shocking but people in Derry accept it. You're told to get on with it and accept what has happened at the turn of the 1920's or whatever when the rules were place.
"We will not have another match at the Brandywell for three weeks so hopefully the grass will grow and in the meantime they can do some work on it."
