THIS weekend Cup action dominates local cricket.
On Saturday all ten Section One sides are involved in the first round of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup with five of them having home ties.
In the other games involving local sides, all away from home, there should be a win for Donemana at CIYMS and
Eglinton have a chance at YMCA .
However the others are up against it. Ardmore have a difficult game at North County and the same can be said about both Glenedrmott at Merrion and Killymallaght at Belfast side Instonians.
On Sunday it is the turn of the Club Turf competition with three games in the North West.
Limavady v Railway Union
Arguably the tie of the round and the home side couldn't have picked tougher opponents as their visitors are the holders and have a number of internationals in their side including Kevin O'Brien who was impressive with the ball for Ireland in last weeks defeat by Nottinghamshire.
The Roesiders got their season up and running last Saturday but they will have to be at their very best if they are to beat the Dubliners.
Prediction: Railway Union.
Strabane v Carrickfergus
Peter Gillespie was in good form with the bat last week however some of his colleagues have yet to find their form they should have Phil Eaglestone back from international duty for this one.
Carrick had a good seven wicket win over Cliftonville last week and that will have helped their confidence, they have ex international Ryan Eaglestone opening their bowling however the home side should come out on top.
Prediction: Strabane.
Brigade v Cork Harlequins
On paper this should be easy for the Beechgrove side as Munster cricket is at a low standard.
They will be hoping that Wajutullah Wasti finally gets here as professionals are at last permitted to play in the competition.
Few problems for Charlie Elder's side.
Prediction: Brigade.
Bready v Derriaghy
Bready's batsmen failed last week five unable to reach double figures. They will be hoping that Chris Dougherty will soon be available, that said they have a good side who with home advantage will start as favourites.
The visitors scored 177 in their defeat last week with their professional Aghale amongst the runs he also picked up two wickets so they can't be taken lightly.
Prediction: Bready.
Fox Lodge v The Hills
The Foxies will relish this one against one of the better Leinster sides. They were impressive in their opening day win over Glendermott and at one stage looked like defeating Brigade last Saturday.
The Southerners have a very experienced side with a number of overseas players in their line up they will enjoy the hospitality which the home side are renowned for and may also book their place in the Second round.
Prediction: The Hills.
