IT'S a case of take two this weekend as Institute begin life in the JJB Sports Premiership when they host Crusaders, on Saturday (KO 3pm).
After last weekend's ludicrous scenes which saw Irish League grounds up and down the country empty because of a referees' strike John Gregg says he's delighted to finally get underway.
"First of all I don't know all the ins and outs of last Saturday
's strike, so I don't really want to get into it too much," he said.
"However I like everyone was disappointed that the season didn't get underway, I was particularly sorry for the supporters who once again seem to be let down.
"Nevertheless I'm just focused on this weekend's game against Crusaders and hoping to get off to a winning start at home.
"I want Institute to be a horrible place for sides to come to, in fact I want Drumahoe to be be a bit of a fortress this season.
"Last season I thought we were too nice particularly at home and that's something I want to change. All supporters want is players to give of their all and if we can do that particularly at Drumahoe, then I'm confident our fans will come out and support us."
Unfortunately for the Drumahoe club last season's player of the year David Ogilby is missing Saturday's encounter through suspension, but Gregg is confident his squad is good enough to cope with the big centre-back.
"Obviously OG missing is a big loss, which a player of his ability would be to any side, but I have strengthened the team this season, with the likes of Sean Roddy and Paddy McLaughlin in defence.
"This season I feel we have three quality centre-backs in OG, Paddy and Mark Scoltock and I have told them as I have told everyone in the squad they all have to fight for their position."
Another man who is out of Saturday's squad is keeper Alan Ryan who had to receive ten stitches in his hand following an incident at work, while experienced trio Ruairi Boyle, James Quigley and Eamon Seydak are also doubtful for Crues visit to the Riverside Stadium.
"Although like everyone I was annoyed that last weekend's game at Glenavon was postponed, it did however give me the chance to give both James and Boyler another week of treatment, but Eamon got a whack on the ankle during training last Saturday, but hopefully after treatment they'll be alright this weekend."
