LIMAVADY'S Deputy Mayor George Robinson has suggested that those opposed to the further development of HMP Magilligan don't care about the town's future.

Mr Robinson welcomed the building work that has begun at Magilligan Prison and stated: "This work has protected valuable jobs at the Magilligan site and has created jobs within a hard pressed construction industry.
"All this is a great way of trying to protect the economy of Limavady at a time when it is essential to protect our town from further blows. I must also point out that some councillors were opposed to not only the rebuild and new build at the Magilligan site, but were also actively supporting the complete closure of the site."
He added: "Perhaps the people of Limavady can now make the informed judgement of who really cares about this town and Boroughs future economically and the attraction of new employment to the area."
