LIMAVADY Borough was clearing up after the heavy rain on Saturday afternoon when nearly a month's rain fell in just a few hours.
The River Roe burst its banks at a number of locations and other rivers and burns in the area also rose causing problems for farmers as livestock got into difficulties due to the floods.
There was a landslide on the face of Benbradagh Mountain as the heavy rain continued to fall for several hours.
Farmers are currently assessing the damage to fences, laneways and crops and are busy gathering up stock which had strayed. It is not known how many livestock were lost in the floods.
A number of roads, including the Drumrane Road at Burnfoot, were closed for several hours on Saturday evening.
While the forecast was for more heavy rain in the early part of the week , thankfully this did not materialise but local people are keeping a close eye on the forecasts.
