CONTRARY to perceived public opinion, not everyone takes issue with helicopters flying over their homes.
In response to the front page story in last week's Roe Valley Sentinel, highlighting the issue of low flying helicopters around the Ballykelly airfield as they carry out training for Afghan deployment, a Myroe resident has come out firmly in favour of the operations.
The lady, who has asked not to be named, contacted the Roe Valley Sentinel last week. She had just read our story and felt compelled to get in touch.
She said: "I have no problem with the helicopters. I love to see them flying up and down.
"My house faces onto Lough Foyle at Myroe and they fly over the house all the time. They don't bother any of us here at all. It's great to see them."
If you have any views on the issue, please get in touch with Milne Rowntree on 028 7776 4090 or milne.rowntree@londonderrysentinel.co.uk
