Chairperson Heather Moore said after the burst pipe at Greysteel Community centre was discovered on New Year's Eve, 19 parents and their toddlers have been unable to meet. Members are now trying to salvage what they can.
"It's been a big upheaval," said Ms Moore, who explained toys, prams, books, bean bags and quilts have alll been destroyed in the flood. A donated slide, popular with the kids, was also destroyed.
With the group unable to meet for the past three weeks, Ms Moore said their funds are down badly.
"We've really lost out on funds, but hopefully we will be back in action shortly."
It's not just the Parent and Toddler group that has been out of action but also the luncheon club offered by Greysteel Community Association. Other classes at the centre, including Irish dancing have also been called off until repairs to the ceiling and toilets are complete
Office administrator Raymond O'Hara said: "I came in on New Year's Eve to lend out some tables for a fuction and I was met with a gush of water. It was like a river," he said. "The elderly and the kids have all missed out."
Mr. O'Hara hopes to have the building open by tomorrow and paid tribute to Limavady Borough Council - which owns the centre - for working on the repairs so quickly and to Sinn Fein Colr. John Felix McElhinney for his support.
"They were very good. They were on the ball and and got to work very quickly."
