UP to ten jobs were lost on Saturday when one of Limavady's most popular cafe's closed it's doors after two and a half years.

Cream Cafe on the town's Market Street served it's last meal at the weekend adding another blow to the local economy. The restaurant was a popular haunt for local shoppers and workers alike, serving morning, lunchtime and evening menus. The eatery also held entertainment nights and catered for special events. On the restaurant's social networking page on Sunday fans flooded the page with remarks of sadness of the closure. One said: "Gutted totally. Such a great cafe, great staff and great food."
Local SDLP Alderman Gerry Mullan called the job loss news "disappointing".
"It is disappointing for any town that so many jobs have been lost and a severe blow to the local economy. These people will now join a long queue of people at the jobs and benefits office."
UUC Councillor Leslie Cubitt called the news "sad" and added that more needed to be done to help businesses in the town.
"This is just one of many closures the town has suffered in the last while. The council needs to have a look at what can be done to help business owners throughout Limavady."
